We Love Green: a beautiful music festival in the heart of Paris

Last month I was in one of the most beautiful festivals I've ever been to (of course, after my beloved Appletree Garden Festival, but very close to it): We Love Green! We Love Green is a festival that takes place in an exceptional setting, in the middle of the forests of Bois de Vincennes in Paris and with a special care in its decoration and respect for the environment.

As ever, the bins were recyclable, the stages built from 100% natural material and the site dotted with the stands of tree-hugging NGOs, while the summery location was amazingly decorated with all kind of art constructions made to protect you from the sun and to delight your eyes. The festival was full of organic food and wine stalls, and kids are also catered with a range of games and workshops.

The programme’s gone from strength to strength since the inaugural festival five years ago, and the 2017 edition was upwards still with headliners such as Nicolas Jaar, Solange, Benjamin Clementine, and Moderat taking center stage over the two-day festival.  Electro fans certainly weren't left out, with DJ Jon Hopkins, Maceo Plex and Canadian singer/songwriter Jessy Lanza present. There were also many local bands I didn't know such as Agar Agar and new up-coming bands such as Parcels.

A world-leader amongst environmentally-friendly festivals, We Love Green took place on June 10th - 11th, 2017 with its winning formula: combination of cutting edge music line up with a series of talks, screenings & debates. Without a doubt, a totally recommendable festival to which I hope to return next year.

Happy week!
Feliz semana!

  5. I love a festival with more than just a music message. The environment has become synonymous with this scene and it's fantastic that it has. You must try to meet me at WOMADelaide one year, it's on in March and runs for 4 days. It's my favourite so far. :-)
