Today I bring you our favorite part of our holidays in Bavaria, Tegernsee! From Augsburg we went to Munich airport by train where we had rented a car with Global for € 68 for 4 days. The rental company is right to the train station exit at the airport. Everything went very well and the delivery is very easy at the same airport parking lot. From Augsburg to the airport it took 1h45 and we used the Bayern Ticket again (you have info in my previous post).
Hoy os traigo la parte de las vacaciones que más me gustó, Tegernsee! Desde Augsburg fuimos hasta el aeropuerto de Munich en tren donde habíamos reservado un coche con Global por 68€ 4 días. La compañía de alquiler está en el mismo aeropuerto justo al lado de la salida del tren del aeropuerto. Todo fue muy bien y la entrega super fácil en el mismo parking del aeropuerto. Desde Augsburgo al aeropuerto tardamos 1h45 y utilizamos el Bayern Ticket de nuevo (tenéis info en mi anterior post).
There is about one hour from Munich to Tegernsee, both by car and by train. There are two stations on the lake, Gmund and Tegernsee. The ticket price ranges from € 7.80 to € 14.80. We discovered this lake by chance. We wanted to visit the southern Bavaria and we were looking for a quiet place, with a lake nearby, from where we could make easily day trips. And so we discovered this place that we totally recommend to disconnect from the daily stress and reconnect with the nature. We stayed in a wonderful country house near Bad Weissee, Unterreiter Hof. Undoubtedly a totally recommended place and very close to one of the bath areas that we liked the most, Kaltenbrunn. We rented an apartment with living room kitchen, bathroom and room that had a balcony with incredible views of the lake for 68€/night (you must add the tourist fee and the extras you request. You can order breakfast, where almost all of its ingredients are homemade ). The family that runs it is lovely and always willing to help you.
Desde Munich hasta el Tegernsee hay una hora, tanto en coche como en tren. Hay dos estaciones en el lago, Gmund y Tegernsee. El precio del billete va desde 7,80€ hasta 14,80€. Descubrimos este lago por azar. Queríamos visitar la zona del sur de Baviera y buscábamos un lugar tranquilo que tuviese un lago cerca desde donde hacer excursiones. Y así lo descubrimos Un lugar totalmente recomendable para desconectar del estrés diario y reconectar con la naturaleza. Nos alojamos en una casa rural maravillosa cerca de Bad Weissee, Unterreiter Hof. Sin duda un lugar totalmente recomendable y muy cerca de una de las zonas de baño que más nos gustó, Kaltenbrunn. Alquilamos un apartamento con salon cocina, baño y habitación que tenía un balcón con increíbles vistas al lago por 68€ la noche (a esto hay que sumarle la tasa turística y los extras que solicites. Puedes pedir desayuno, donde casi todos sus ingredientes son propios). La familia que lo regenta es majísima y siempre dispuesta a ayudarte.
Surrounding the lake is about 20km and is very well prepared for cycling. There are also many more bike trails through its hills, from which to discover the most rural and beautiful Bavaria. The lake also attracts tourists in winter due to its ski slopes that can also be visited in summer to enjoy the views of the lake. We took the cable car that takes you to Wallberg (€ 20 return ticket, half if you have the Tegernsee Card that was given to us in our accommodation). The views are wonderful and you can walk down or take one of the many mountain trails.
Rodear el lago son unos 20km y está muy bien preparado para recorrerlo en bici. También hay muchos más senderos para realizar en bici a través de sus colinas, desde donde descubrir la Baviera más rural y bonita. El lago también atrae a turistas en invierno debido a sus pistas de esquí que también se pueden visitar en verano para disfrutar de las vistas del lago. Nosotros cogimos el teleférico que te lleva a Wallberg (20€ i/v, la mitad si tienes la Tegernsee Card que te la regalaban en nuestro alojamiento). Las vistas son maravillosa y puedes bajar caminando o realizar alguno de los muchos senderos por la montaña que hay.
You can also visit one of its most characteristic cities, Rottach Egern, from where you will have the classic view of the lake with the St. Laurentius Church in the background. Here is also another of our favorite beaches on the lake, Sportplatz Point Tegernsee. A wonderful area with grass, sand, playground, trees and a little deep shore. The other area that we liked to bathe in is Kalterbrunn, more wild and intimate from where we also enjoy a night bath under the moon. If you go with children, the water seems too cold to you or the day is grey, you can also enjoy the hot water facilities, slides and swimming pools next to the Rottach-Egern lake. If you want something to drink with a view, I recommend Café Aran or Haubentaucher.
También podéis visitar uno de sus municipios más característicos, Rottach Egern, desde donde tendréis la clásica vista del lago con la Iglesia St. Laurentius de fondo. Aquí está también otro de nuestras playas favoritas del lago, Sportplatz Point Tegernsee. Una zona maravillosa con cesped, arena, parque infantil, arboles y una orilla que no cubre. La otra zona que nos gustó para bañarnos es Kalterbrunn, más salvaje e intima desde la que disfrutamos también de noche para darnos un baño bajo la luna. Si vas con niños, el agua te parece demasiado fría o te ha salido un día gris también puedes disfrutar de las instalaciones de agua caliente, toboganes y piscinas que hay junto al lago Rottach-Egern. Si lo que quieres es tomar algo con vistas te recomiendo el Café Aran o el Haubentaucher.
From the Tegernsee you can visit many places in Bavaria such as Oberammergau, Garmisch-Parternkirchen, Mittenwald or Munich. We visited Mittenwald and Bad Tölz. To reach Mittenwald we pass through the Sylvenstein Dam, an unusual place in the middle of the Bavarian Alps from where you can make various routes by bicycle or on foot. As the reservoir is in the limits of a forest reserve there are no buildings or businesses of any kind, very few people go and its entrance is free, so it is a fantastic place to enjoy nature. To continue along the road that runs along the lower valley of the Isar River towards Wallgau, we had to pay € 4 toll for a route of 13.4 km. It is seen that this toll has existed since the end of the 18th century when King Louis II of Bavaria himself instituted it for the passage of merchandise from Tyrol. Today the money raised is used for the conservation of the Forest Reserve and the journey is magical.
Desde el Tegernsee puedes visitar muchos lugares de Baviera como Oberammergau, Garmisch-Parternkirchen, Mittenwald o Munich. Nosotros visitamos Mittenwald y Bad Tölz. Para llegar a Mittenwald pasamos por el embalse de Sylvenstein, un lugar insólito en medio de los Alpes Bávaros desde donde puedes hacer diversas rutas en bicicleta o a pie. Como el embalse está en los limites de una reserva forestal no hay construcciones ni negocios de ninguna clase, va muy poca gente y su entrada es libre, por lo que es un lugar fantástico para disfrutar de la naturaleza. Para continuar por la carretera que bordea el valle inferior del río Isar hacia Wallgau, tuvimos que pagar 4€ euros de peaje por un trayecto de 13.4 km. Se ve que este peaje existe desde finales del siglo XVIII cuando el mismo rey Luis II de Baviera lo instituyo para el paso de las mercancías provenientes del Tirol. Hoy en día el dinero recaudado se utiliza para la conservación de la Reserva Forestal y el trayecto es mágico.
Mittenwald is a beautiful town located in the Bavarian Alps, very close to the Austrian border, famous for its houses painted with illustrations. The truth is that it is a very tourist town, one of those that in the end you feel in a theme park, but it is small and it is nice to walk it. From here you can visit on the same day Oberammergau or Garmisch-Parternkirche. Near this last city there is an outlet of Birkenstocks where you can find great bargains!
Mittenwald es un pueblo precioso situado en los Alpes Bávaros, muy cerca de la frontera con Austria, famoso por sus casas pintadas con ilustraciones. La verdad es que es un pueblo muy turístico, de esos que al final te hacen sentir como en un parque temático, pero es pequeño y es agradable recorrerlo caminando. Desde aquí podéis visitar en el día Oberammergau o Garmisch-Parternkirche. Cerca de esta última ciudad hay un outlet de Birkenstocks donde podéis encontrar grandes chollos!
Bad Tölz is very close to Tegernsee. We went on a rainy day. Bad Tölz is known for its hot springs, for the medieval citadel and its spectacular alpine landscape. On the western bank of the Isar are the modern thermal baths (Kurverwaltung), whose iodine-rich waters are famous for their healing properties. Another tourist attraction is the Stadtpfarrkirche, a church built in 1466, an example of German late Gothic.
Bad Tölz está muy cerca de Tegernsee. Aprovechamos un día que salió gris y lluvioso para dar una vuelta por la ciudad. Bad Tölz es conocida por sus termas, por la ciudadela medieval y su espectacular paisaje alpino. Sobre la ribera occidental del Isar se encuentran los modernos baños termales (Kurverwaltung), cuyas aguas ricas en yodo son famosas por sus propiedades curativas. Otra atracción turística la constituye la Stadtpfarrkirche, iglesia construida en 1466, ejemplo del gótico tardío alemán.
