On tour with NTS & BERSHKA

If there Is one thing I'm passionate about, it's live music and discovering new corners of the world through it. This year, I had the incredible opportunity to follow the NTS tour with BERSHKAMUSIC, discovering emerging artists on a journey that took me to four European cities: Warsaw, Madrid, Berlin, and Lisbon. Each stop was a unique experience, filled with great music, surprising gastronomy, and unforgettable moments with my travel companions.

Si hay algo que me apasiona, es la música en directo y descubrir nuevos rincones del mundo a través de ella. Este año he tenido la increíble oportunidad de seguir la gira de NTS con BERSHKAMUSIC, descubriendo a artistas emergentes en un tour que me llevó a cuatro ciudades europeas: Varsovia, Madrid, Berlín y Lisboa. Cada parada fue una experiencia única, llena de buena música, gastronomía sorprendente y momentos inolvidables con mis compañeros de viaje.

These last few weeks confined I haven't been able to travel (as the mayority of you), but this gave me the  chance  to dedicate more time to another of my great passions, music. It's already clear that this year we won't be able attend music festivals, or at least not in person, because social networks hasn't stop broadcasting direct shows by great artists (which we know is not the same, but it is appreciated) . So, I have decided to bring you this post with the artists to watch out this year.

Estas ultimas semanas confinada no he viajado, pero he podido dedicar más tiempo a otra de mis grandes pasiones, la música. A día de hoy, ya parece claro que este año nos quedaremos sin festivales de música, o por lo menos sin poder verlos presencialmente, ya que las redes sociales se han convertido en la nueva plataforma para los festivales (no es lo mismo, pero se agradece). Así que, he decidido traeros este post con los artistas que darán mucho que hablar este año.

These are the 20 artists you can't miss at Primavera Sound 2020

A few days ago Pavement came forward and unveiled the poster of Primavera Sound this year before the organization itself ... The truth is that when a festival reveals all its line-up suddenly you go crazy and get tachycardias by reading the whole list at once. This year, without a doubt, has been that way. A line-up with big names and, in my case, with a day where most of my favorites condense: Thursday! Apart from that, here the 20 artists that you can't miss this festival, young talents with great projection for this 2020.

Hace unos días Pavement se adelantaba y desvelaba el cartel del Primavera Sound de este año antes que la propia organización... La verdad es que cuando un festival desvela todo su line-up de golpe te vuelves loco y leer el listado del tirón te puede provocar taquicardias. Este año, sin duda, así ha sido. Un cartel con grandes nombres y, en mi caso, con un día donde se condensan la mayoría de mis favoritos: el jueves! A parte de eso, os dejo aquí los 20 artistas que no te puedes perder este festival, jóvenes talentos con gran proyección para este 2020.

My 2019 in concerts

Happy 2020 folks! I hope you had a great start on this new year and that this 2020 brings us great joys, especially for our planet. I want to summarize my 2019 through the artists that I have been able to enjoy live. It has been a great year where I've been able to meet great emerging (and not so emerging) artists. Here my own list, I hope you discover some artists you may like.

Feliz 2020! Espero que hayáis empezado el año con buen pie y que este 2020 nos traiga grandes alegrías, sobre todo a nivel medioambiental. Yo quiero aprovechar que se ha acabado el año, para hacer un resumen del 2019 a través de los artistas de los que he podido disfrutar en directo. Ha sido un gran año y he tenido la suerte de conocer artistas emergentes (y otros no tan emergentes) de gran talento. Aquí os dejo mi resumen. Espero que descubráis algún artista que os guste.

Woodie Smalls live in Brussels

Last month I went to Brussels with some friends to see Woodie Smalls live. We were only two days (it was a work trip), but we had enough time to discover some interesting places. So I bring you a brief post  with some interesting tips that our Belgian friends gave us.

El mes pasado fui con unos amigos a Bruselas al concierto de Woodie Smalls. Estuvimos únicamente dos días, porque íbamos por trabajo,  pero nos dio para descubrir algunos sitios interesantes. MTV EUROPEAN MUSIC AWARDS 2019

This year me and my friend Carmen were invited to attend the European Music Awards  held in Seville this year. Commonly abbreviated as MTV EMA, these awards are given annually, since 1994, by the MTV channel to the best of European music. They were originally created as a variant of the MTV Video Music Awards also known as American VMAs. EMAs are held every year in a different European city. This year was in Seville.

Este año nos invitaron a mi y a mi compi Carmen a conocer los European music Awards que se celebraban en Sevilla. Conocidos también como EMAs, son unos premios otorgados anualmente, desde 1994, por el canal MTV a lo mejor de la música de Europa. Originalmente fueron creados como una variante de los MTV Video Music Awards también conocidos como VMAs estadounidenses. Los EMA se celebran cada año en una ciudad europea diferente. Este año fue en Sevilla.

TIDAL X: Rock the Vote in NY

In October I was invited to the annual charity concert organized by TIDAL, TIDAL X Rock The Vote. Since its creation in 2015, these charity concerts have raised millions of dollars for different social causes such as the reform of criminal justice or humanitarian aid in natural disasters. This year's revenue from this concert has been entirely allocated to Rock The Vote to prepare new voters for elections as decisive as those of 2020 in the United States.

En octubre me invitaron al concierto benéfico anual organizado por TIDAL, TIDAL X Rock The Vote. Desde su creación en 2015, estos conciertos benéficos han recaudado millones de dólares para distintas causas sociales como la reforma de la justicia penal o ayuda humanitaria en desastres naturales. Este año los ingresos de este concierto han sido íntegramente destinados a Rock The Vote para preparar a los nuevos votantes para unas elecciones tan decisivas como serán las de 2020 en Estados Unidos.

THROWBACK TO LAST SUMMER

I was doing some digital cleaning on my laptop and found so many unpublished stories that I would love to share with you (if I find the time to do so)... Motherhood doens't give much truce to find moments of calm for bringing you more stories, but I will do my best to keep this diary updated.

We Love Green: a beautiful music festival in the heart of Paris

Last month I was in one of the most beautiful festivals I've ever been to (of course, after my beloved Appletree Garden Festival, but very close to it): We Love Green! We Love Green is a festival that takes place in an exceptional setting, in the middle of the forests of Bois de Vincennes in Paris and with a special care in its decoration and respect for the environment.

El mes pasado estuve en uno de los festivales más bonitos que he estado (por supuesto, por detrás de mi querido Appletree Garden Festival, pero rozándole los talones): We Love Green! We Love Green es un festival que se desarrolla en un entorno excepcional, en medio de los bosques de Bois de Vincennes en París y que cuenta con un especial cuidado en su decoración y en el respeto por el medio ambiente.

Some of them are already reaping success, some others are still unknown but have a great talent and I wanted to include them on my list. The Last 3 Lines releases new song "Screaming Eyes"

Hi guys! We continue with musical news. Yesterday The Last 3 Lines released their new video "screaming eyes", first single of the new album "Portals" (to be released on January 2017). Luckily for the most impatient ones, we'll be able to buy the new album this Friday in its presentation concert at BeCool in Barcelona. This weekend I'll bring you my first impressions and pictures of the concert ;)

Hola chicos! Seguimos con noticias musicales. Ayer mismo The Last 3 Lines estrenaba su nuevo video “screaming eyes”, primer single del nuevo álbum “Portals” que lanzan a principios del 2017. Por suerte para los más impacientes, podremos comprar el nuevo disco en primicia este viernes en su concierto presentación en la sala BeCool en Barcelona. Klangstof, norwegian sounds

My new obsession is called Klangstof, a name that could perfectly define the music of Koen Van De Wardt ("Klang" mean echo in Norweagan and "stof" dust in Dutch), a Norwegian artist living in Holland. And this is his story, taken from the page of his label, that explains perfectly how special this record is.

Mi nueva obsesión se llama Klangstof, un nombre que podría definir la música de Koen Van De Wardt (“klang” significa eco en noruego y “stof” polvo en holandés), artista noruego afincado en Holanda. Y esta es su historia, sacada de la página de su sello, pero que explica a la perfección lo especial que es este disco.

Ladies night with La Luz at Apolo [2]

Finally we managed to find time for a concert night together! This time Vicky (#ParanoiaGirls) couldn't come :( but Natalia (#PanavisionPets) came instead. Alex, Natalia and I went to Apolo's [sala 2] to see La Luz live who played alongside Zephyr Bones and Boogarins .

Por fin volvimos a encontrar un hueco para salir de concierto! Esta vez Vicky (#ParanoiaGirls) no pudo venir :( pero en su lugar vino Natalia (#PanavisionPets). Alex, Natalia y yo fuimos a la sala 2 del Apolo a ver en directo a La Luz que tocaban junto a Zephyr Bones y Boogarins. 

5 bands you need to know

Since last year that I don't bring you guys music recommendations... I've been focused on travels and festivals, and have neglected introducing you new artists (which may not be new, but I didn't know before). So, today I bring you a selection of 5 bands of women (although one of them is mixed) I can't stop listening lately.

Creo que desde el año pasado que no os traigo recomendaciones musicales... Me he centrado en viajes y festivales, y he dejado de lado esta parte que tanto me gusta, descubrir artistas (que tal vez no sean nuevos, pero que yo no conocía). Así que, hoy os traigo una selección de 5 bandas de mujeres (aunque una de ellas es mixta) que no dejo de escuchar últimamente.

Audioriver festival

Last weekend I was in Poland visiting my friends Ania and Kasia. On Saturday we decided to do something different and go to Audioriver, an electronic music festival in Płock. Płock is a small city of over 100,000 inhabitants on the banks of the Vistula River. According to my friends, totally unknown if it wasn't for this alternative festival of independent electronic music.

El pasado fin de semana estuve en Polonia visitando a mis amigas Ania y Kasia. El sábado decidimos hacer algo diferente e ir al festival de música electrónica Audioriver en Płock. Płock es una pequeña ciudad de algo más de 100.000 habitantes a las orillas del río Vístula. Según mis amigas, totalmente desconocida si no fuera por este festival alternativo de música electrónica independiente que atrae a bastante gente.

Cruïlla Festival 2016, an international local festival

One day I saw on my Facebook feed  that Damien Rice was playing in Barcelona. Quickly jabbed the link. Cruïlla Festival. The truth is that this festival seemed to me an unattractive, second class festival... too local for my taste. However, being able to see Damien Rice live was well worth it and the dates were perfect.

En mi feed de Facebook me apareció la noticia de que Damien Rice tocaba en Barcelona. Rápidamente pinché el enlace. Cruïlla Festival. La verdad es que siempre me había parecido un festival de segunda poco atractivo... demasiado local. Sin embargo, poder volver a ver a Damien Rice en directo bien lo valía. Las fechas eran perfectas. No me coincidía con nada.
