Those of you who follow me on Instagram, have seen that Ideotta and I have spent a few days in Copenhagen. Neither of us knew this city before and we both love it now. I have always tried to avoid traveling to the Nordic countries in winter because of the cold, but I have to tell you that Copenhagen in December is beautiful, specially with its Christmas markets, its lighting and the incredible Christmas decoration of the Tivoli Gardens. Totally worth the cold.
Los que me seguís en Instagram, habéis visto que Ideotta y yo hemos pasado unos días en Copenhague. Ninguno de los dos conocíamos esta ciudad y nos ha encantado. Siempre he intentado evitar los países nórdicos en invierno por el frío, pero he de deciros que Copenhague en diciembre está precioso con sus mercados de navidad, su iluminación y la increíble decoración navideña del Tivoli. Totalmente recomendable.

Day 1: Classic Copenhagen. The center and main monuments of the city.
Day 2: Copenhagen between channels. Christianborg Palace, Christianshavn and Christiania.
Day 3: Hipster Copenhagen. Vesterbro, Nørrebro and Meatpacking district.

After visiting Norway, Sweden and Denmark, I must confess that this last country is undoubtedly the most captivating. The people in Denmark are very open, cheerful and friendly. They immediately make you feel at home. Perhaps they show their only weakness when riding a bike. Danes on two wheels are dangerous. Always look both sides, especially so that you don't get hit by a bike.
Tras visitar Noruega, Suecia y Dinamarca, he de deciros que este último país es, sin duda, el que más me ha cautivado. La gente en Dinamarca es muy abierta, alegre y amable. En seguida te hacen sentir como en casa. Tal vez el único punto débil lo muestran cuando van en bicicleta. Los daneses sobre dos ruedas son peligrosos. Mirad siempre a ambos lados, sobre todo para que no os atropelle ninguna bici.
The city center is well connected with the airport. There are frequent trains to the central station (in front of Tivoli) and the ticket costs 36 DKK (about 5 €). We have been able to pay absolutely everything with card, so it is not necessary to change currency. The city is totally flat and easy to walk. It is also super well prepared to ride the whole city by bike. Copenhagen has plenty of bike lanes and is one of the main means of transportation in the city. You can rent bicycles in a lot of places and the average price is 10 € -15 € a day.
El centro de la ciudad está muy bien comunicado con el aeropuerto. Hay trenes frecuentes a la estación central (en frente de Tivoli) y el billete cuesta 36 DKK (unos 5€). Hemos podido pagar absolutamente todo con tarjeta, por lo que no es necesario cambiar moneda. La ciudad es totalmente plana y facilísima de recorrer a pie. También está super bien preparada para recorrerla en bici. Toda la ciudad tiene carriles de bici y es uno de los principales medios de transporte en Copenhague. Podéis alquilar bicicletas en muchísimos sitios y tienen un precio de unos 10€-15€ el día.
Here my top 10 things I liked most from Copenhagen:
1. Tivoli, its magical decoration and the views from the Star Flyer (in Danish Himmelskibet).
2. Their infinite and delicious variety of cinnamon rolls (much better than in Sweden!)
3. The views from the spiral spire of the church of Our Saviour
4. Its beautiful channels, both Nyhavn and Christianshavn
5. Danish sympathy
6. The super fine black chocolate of the brand Galle & Jessen
7. The Vesterbro neighborhood
8. The bio, organic and local trade culture that they have
9. Our airbnb. Central, cozy, clean and with the best host!
10. The whole area of Christianshavn
Os dejo mi top 10 de las cosas que más me han gustado de esta ciudad:
1. Tivoli, su mágica decoración y las vistas desde el Star Flyer (en danés Himmelskibet)
2. Su infinita y deliciosa variedad de Rollitos de Canela (mucho mejores que en Suecia!)
3. Las vistas desde el chapitel en espiral de la iglesia de San Salvador
4. Sus preciosos canales, tanto Nyhavn como el de Christianshavn
5. La simpatía danesa
6. El chocolate negro super fino de la marca Galle&Jessen
7. El barrio Vesterbro
8. La cultura bio, orgánica y de comercio local que tienen
9. Nuestro airbnb. Céntrico, acogedor, limpio y con un anfitrión insuperable!
10. Toda la zona de Christianshavn

Ahh! May I just ask, did you go Sweden and Norway in the same trip as Denmark? How do you get between countries, was it by flight? I'm trying to out a plan for my Scandi trip but have nothing planned firmly yet, ha! So I heard Copenhagen and Norway are extremely expensive....
ReplyDeleteHello Kristine! I did first Norway and Sweden and, in another trip, Denmark. From Norway to Sweden I used norwegian airlines which was super cheap! We also used the train in Norway, if you book in advance is not expensive. Definitely, all these countries are expensive. We used to make us sandwhiches, cook at our airbnbs, etc so save money from food. We always used airbnb for accommodation and always private room (not whole apartment). Choosing alwyas those with kitchen. We used to pay around 50€ -60€ per night for the 2 of us. I think I have the links on the posts. Ask me anything!
