Cafe Cometa with Hanhny

​​It's been several years that I live in Barcelona, and every day I like more this city, especially with good weather (quite common, fortunately!) One of my favorite places for breakfast or for a snack is Cafe Cometa. Before Cometa, Cosmo held that title but, being of the same owners, Cometa have managed to challenge the saying: sequels are never good and become the more intimate and delicious version of the first one.

Llevo ya varios años viviendo en Barcelona, y cada día me gusta más, especialmente con buen tiempo (afortunadamente, algo bastante habitual!) Uno de mis sitios favoritos para desayunar o tomar algo es el café Cometa. Antes de Cometa, Cosmo ostentaba ese título pero, siendo de los mismos dueños, han conseguido desafiar al dicho: segundas partes nunca fueron buenas y convertirse en una versión más íntima y deliciosa del primero.

Berlin, Michelberger, Happiness

Last month I was in Berlin, among other things, visiting the MTV offices. Berlin is definitely one of my favorite cities. As many all you already know, I lived in this wonderful and unique city for two years. After those two years, the day came, when I had to leave. There was no specific reason, but it was a turning point: stay there forever or discover new horizons. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I think I've ever been as sad as the day I left Berlin. In fact, I spent the entire flight crying. Now every time I go back (and I do it quite often) I feel like coming home. As soon as I got off the plane I feel the smell of bread and feel myself in a safe place. Yes, Germany smells like bread, at least to me... ☺

El mes pasado estuve en Berlín, entre otras cosas, visitando las oficinas de MTV. Berlín es, sin duda, una de mis ciudades favoritas. Como ya sabéis muchos de vosotros, hace un tiempo viví dos años en esta ciudad maravillosa, única y muy inspiradora. Tras dos años en esta ciudad, llegó el día en que tuve que irme. No había ningún motivo específico, pero era un momento de inflexión: quedarse ahí para siempre o descubrir nuevos horizontes. Recuerdo aquel día como si fuera ayer. Creo que nunca he estado tan triste como el día que me fui de Berlín. De hecho, me pase todo el vuelo llorando. Ahora, cada vez que vuelvo (y lo hago bastante a menudo) siento que vuelvo a casa. Nada más bajar del avión ya siento ese olor a pan que me hace sentir en sitio seguro. Sí, Alemania huele a pan, o eso me parece a mi... ☺

Lovely weekend with Esther

Last saturday one of my dearest friend came to visit me in Barcelona. We know each other for years and she is like the little sister I never had. Esther and I met in Esther's hometown, Nürnberg (Germany). She was my host family when I was learning German but soon became my best friend. I still have a box full of letters she wrote me during all this years (or at least until internet changed that for emails). There aren't enough words to describe how much I love her.
