Arles

The crisis seams to have cut even the days, or at least mine seam to be shorter this year. I have so many things I would like to tell you about, but I never have enough time to post.  Anyway, less complaining and more writing! Today I wanted to show you another place I visited when I was in the Provence: Arles.

Arles became also a very nice discovery. I didn't have any builded ideas about the city. Arles was simply the city where Van Gogh did paint lots of his most famous drawings.

Maybe that's why I liked so much Arles. I found the mixture of both cities: the Provençal beauty and the creative chaos of Marseille. Its streets had a similar structure and  character to Aix, but more unkempt and with the distinctive creative imprint from Marseille. That neglect and carelessness, or perhaps just knowing that Van Gogh had lived there, made Arles more bohemian and unique.

HIs funny how the painting The three Musicians from Picasso came into my mind when I saw this courtyard. It gave me the impressions that they had been there and that I didn't crossed them for a few seconds. Does it make sense? ☺

The Three Musicians

HI still have more photos to show you and things to tell you about Arles. I hope to be able to post it soon. Meanwhile, have a nice weekend!
