From Otranto we follow the "litoranea" road looking for more coves and villages erected on the edge of the sea. We traveled towards Santa Maria di Leuca, the southernmost tip of Salento, also called Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae (end of the world), according to an old popular belief that placed it on the edge of the earth.
Desde Otranto seguimos la "litoranea" en busca de más calas y pueblos erigidos al borde del mar. Siempre dirección Santa Maria di Leuca, la punta más al sur del Salento, llamada también Santa María de finibus terrae (del fin del mundo), de acuerdo con una antigua creencia popular según la cual la situaba en el límite de la tierra.
The sea of Otranto was one of the most idyllic settings of the trip. After two intense days of walking and visiting beaches, we decided that the third day would be more relaxed. We just wanted to enjoy any beach of the Adriatic Sea. In fact, we chose the beach using google earth. We just zoom off areas of the coast of Otranto where the blue of the water stand out in a special way. This way we found Atlantis, our favorite beach of the trip!
El mar de Otranto fue uno de los escenarios más idílicos del viaje. Tras dos días intensos de caminar y visitar playas, decidimos que este tercer día sería más relajado y disfrutaríamos de una playa cualquiera del mar Adriático. De hecho, la buscamos con google earth. Haciendo zoom en zonas de la costa de Otranto donde destacase el azul de forma especial. Así dimos con esta playa: Atlantis, nuestra playa favorita de todo el viaje!
